Sisterhood of Travelers
Representing an estimated 40 to 50 percent of all business travelers in the U.S., women are starting to find that airlines, hotel chains and other travel providers are going out of their way to provide a comfortable welcome.
American Airlines launched AA.com/women two years ago, offering travel
information, a community forum and special incentives—including reward miles
for every dollar AAdvantage members donate to the breast cancer organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Hotels are emphasizing safety, privacy and perks. Some, like Don Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club in Miami Lakes, Fla., feature an exclusive floor for women. And Wyndham founded Women on the Way in 1995. The company’s website, offers articles, discounts and blogs—including one by “Jane Air,” who writes about business travel.
