“WEDO has really taken on a life of its own,” says National City Senior Vice President Linda Stevenson, who founded the Women’s Economic Development Outreach program in western Pennsylvania
in 2002. “Our audience has grown, the level of speakers has risen, and the program has gotten richer each year,” she says.

The WEDO program is back for its sixth year beginning Oct. 21 in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio. A steering committee of women business leaders will choose themes, topics and speakers based on the needs of the local business communities. “The participants are the real owners of WEDO,” Stevenson says. “It’s truly a coalition of women reaching out to women.”
